Choosing your executors
Choosing your executors
Executors are responsible for applying for the Grant of Probate, administering the estate and distributing the assets. It is important to choose someone who will be willing and able to act when the time comes. Consider how old they might be at the time and other responsibilities they may have. Before appointing someone as executor in your will, you should discuss it with them and ask whether they would be prepared to take on the responsibility. Make sure they know what is involved and that they know where your will and other important documents are stored.
